Karen Catalan grew up on the upper west side of New York, and studied art and design at NYU and Queens College. She had been in the design industry since she graduated in 1984, until a few years ago when she started an online weight loss business and started writing for numerous article directories on the subject of successful weight loss strategies and tips for achieving long term health.

With her common sense advice, encouragement and self-deprecating humor, it’s no wonder writing became a natural venue for her to express, vent and laugh at the absurdity of her life. From savvy New Yorker to cowgirl & Harley enthusiast, she managed to adapt just long enough to return to her roots five years later for design work. As if life wasn’t already interesting, Karen managed to gracefully segue into single-parenting…at 41 no less.
The social media invasion could not have come at a better time. She needed an outlet to let ‘er rip, and twitter and facebook gave her that venue..at least initially. Eventually those character restrictions of twitter were no match for her mouth. Facebook became a virtual megaphone of sorts, but as many pointed out, she needed a larger podium, a bigger megaphone and without restrictions. This sassy redhead had a dogma of her own and a blog was just what she needed.
After many years, Karen was getting her groove back. Not that she entirely lost it, but after a seven year hiatus, dating again in her forties seemed like a hazy memory…resembling somewhat of a marijuana haze. Chivalry had bit the dust. Sex? Was there a manual? A You Tube video? A CliffsNotes version? It appeared a refresher course in dating etiquette, intimacy & kegeling were inevitable.
Fortunately for Karen, maturity and experience were on her side, and, she had mastered the art of no-nonsense talking. Those NY instincts would help her sniff out the wrong motives. It was the reincarnation of Karen. She was on the path to a sexual awakening.
